Children's Futures:
A Healthy Life for Every Child in Trenton
Scientific research has proven that children's abilities to learn, and thus much of their prospects for the future, are formed during their earliest years, from the months before birth through age three.
Children's Futures was founded on the premise that a concerted effort to enrich those early years, drawing together a wide range of new and existing services, could lead to greater school-readiness and a substantial improvement in children's health and overall positive development.
| Children's Futures developed a comprehensive, citywide program in every Ward in Trenton focusing on the critical time period of prenatal care to age three. |
Because the experiences in a child's early years have a major impact on well-being and future success, Children's Futures developed a comprehensive, citywide program in every Ward in Trenton focusing on the critical time period of prenatal care to age three.
Children's Futures is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization focused on improving health and development outcomes for children and their families. We do this by: engaging community partners to help break down family isolation; building trust between and among residents; forming alliances with health care providers; promoting positive parenting through information, resources and programs; and, helping Trenton's most vulnerable citizens secure essential services.
We specifically work to improve access to prenatal, maternal and child health care and support activities that improve birth outcomes, childcare, literacy, parenting skills, access to medical care, education and father involvement. We also provide technical assistance to faith-based organizations and others dedicated to the prosperity and well-being of Trenton's families.
